About Us
Rotherham Investment & Development Office (RiDO) is the regeneration arm of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
RiDO has over 20 years' experience of providing business incubation services in the Rotherham area, since the opening of its first dedicated business centre in 1986. RiDO now operate four modern business incubation centres across the borough offering support and assistance to local and international businesses.
The Centres are targeted at small and new start business, and offer over 100,000 sq. ft. (10,000 m2) of incubation space, consisting of offices and workshop units ranging from 100 – 900 sq. ft. (9 - 83m2) in size.
The incubation centres are run by professionally qualified staff with a wide range of experience. Amanda Parris, the business centre manager, is a holder of the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion. The team currently work on a daily basis with approximately 100 businesses across the incubation centres. Their aim is to help the tenant companies grow to become successful and create wealth in Rotherham.
Each incubation centre has access to its own dedicated business adviser, who works with individual client companies, offering advice, guidance, mentoring and links to other partners. In addition, there are other members of RiDO and the wider Council team that can be called on as and when required.
Working relationships have been developed with partners across a wide range of areas, to ensure the incubation companies receive the best advice and guidance relative to their specific requirements, eg. Business Link, Chamber of Commerce, financial institutions, industry organisations etc.
