Rotherham’s Mayor visits Fusion@Magna
The Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Shaun Wright, has seen firsthand the support available for new small businesses across the borough during a recent visit to the Fusion @ Magna business centre at Templeborough.
The Mayor and Mayoress met centre staff and toured a number of the new start and growing businesses that are based in the offices and workshops of the Fusion development.
Fusion is home to a wide variety of companies, and this diversity was reflected in the range of businesses the Mayor and Mayoress visited.
These included; Eurocoms Group Ltd, who design and install network infrastructures, telecommunications and security systems; IDL Engineering Services, specialist designers, suppliers and installers of commercial catering equipment; Moran Electrical Solutions, electrical contractors to commercial and public sector clients; commercial video producers, Red Monkey Films and; The Ultimate Balloon company who create balloon decorations and room dressings for events.
Fusion is one of four business centres operated by Rotherham Investment & Development Office (RiDO), the regeneration arm of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. The centres provide a secure and supportive environment in which new-start businesses can successfully develop their business.
Companies enjoy easy in / easy out terms without being tied into long lease arrangements and modern, professional premises that help enhance the image of their business, but without the high costs such amenities usually command.
Evidence shows that new start businesses benefit from being located with like-minded business people, and support is provided by RiDO’s dedicated centre staff and professional business advisers.
RiDO has a 20-year pedigree of running business centres and helping new and young businesses to survive and prosper. Earlier this year RiDO were presented with the Incubation Champion Award for 2011 by UK Business Incubation (UKBI); the leading professional body on the development and support of business incubation environments. This was the second time that Rotherham has won the award in recent years, having previously held the title in 2005.
